Linen Texture
Linen, the most popular texture, offers a finished, upscale look to your images. Linen texture is used for any subject giving it a more professional
look.
|
|
|
|
Pebble Texture
Pebble, a deeper texture, renders a larger print "complete", adding dimension and depth to the image. Pebble texture is used by many photographers
to help prevent illegal scanning of their work.

Embassy Texture
Embassy texture is a combination of the Linen and Pebble textures. This is the most intense texture option.

Canvas Coatings

Smooth Coating
Smooth Coating is evenly applied and settles into the weave of the canvas. Once dry, only the canvas texture is revealed.

Brush Coating
Brush Stroke Coating is applied with a multitude of brush strokes in a random pattern. Once dry, the brush strokes add dimension from reflecting

DuraCoat – The Next Generation of Image Protection
FAQ
- What is DuraCoat? DuraCoat is a ProlabExpress® proprietary non-aqueous solid coating designed
to protect prints sized 20x24 and smaller with greater protection than aqueous-based coatings.
- How is DuraCoat applied to my prints? DuraCoat is applied using a computer-controlled timing, application
and curing environment.
- Can DuraCoat be applied by hand? No, the coating process must be controlled by computer to ensure consistent
thickness and application coverage.
- What is the difference between aqueous based coatings and DuraCoat? Aqueous coatings (satin and clear
coat) contain approximately 35% solids and 65% water. DuraCoat contains 100% solids, which provide greater protection for your prints. As an
example, 1 millimeter of aqueous coating is really .4 millimeter. A 1-millimeter DuraCoat coating is a true 1-millimeter of coating.
- Will DuraCoat look the same as aqueous clear coating? There is a slight difference in the gloss (reflectance).
Aqueous based clear coating has somewhat less reflectance than DuraCoat.
- Is DuraCoat waterproof? No. No photographic print can be “waterproof” using any type of coating. Our
testing, however, shows that DuraCoat significantly outperformed aqueous based coatings when comparing resistance to moisture, cleaning, and
fingerprint removal.
- Is DuraCoat a premium product? Is this an upsell opportunity for my studio? Yes
and Yes! DuraCoat should be sold to your clients as a premium product. Right now, ProlabExpress® is the only major lab offering
this technology. This will allow ProlabExpress® clients to differentiate themselves from the competition. The upsell to your
clients is that DuraCoat provides better protection from fingerprints, moisture, and cleaning. DuraCoat is also great for Proof Books and albums.
- Does DuraCoat add to your turnaround time? No
- Does DuraCoat offer greater UV protection than aqueous coatings? No
- Is the reflectance of DuraCoat adjustable? No
